Extension/carousel activity Children either allocated a numeral, or choose a numeral card and write down what is one more and one less. Planned to go alongside Year 1 Block A Unit 1 Week 2 - written addition and subtraction sums - focus on the numerical symbols (+, - and =) I made each one designed to be cut and stuck into Numeracy exercise books, as children not yet used to writing on squared paper!

Board game designed to celebrate the 2012 Olympic games. Start at the Wenlock mascot and travel around. When you land on a medal space, get that coloured Olympic ring. Can move between rings using the 2012 logo space. Winner is the person that has collected all five coloured rings and raced to the Mandeville mascot to end. Hope you enjoy playing. A board game designed to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee. Game board to be enlarged to A3. Children to roll a dice and each time they land on a square, pick up a Royal family card. If they land on a crown card, take a Queen card. Queen cards encourage children to take or give away money. To start with 5p in pennies. The winner is the person who ends up with all of the Royal family on their game card. If able, children to then add up how much money they have accrued. Could even extend by asking children to change their coins for the lowest equivalent coins.
